Chamber Music Matinee: Trio Delux at the Mozarteum
We are delighted to invite you to a special chamber music concert featuring the Trio Delux. Taking place in the heart of Salzburg, this performance offers an intimate look into the expressive world of late Romantic chamber music, bringing together unique instrumental colors and vocal artistry.
About the Programme
The centerpiece of this morning’s matinee is a profound and deeply moving work by Johannes Brahms: the Two Songs for Alto, Viola, and Piano, Op. 91.
For this concert, the audience will experience these masterpieces in a beautiful, specialized arrangement for Mezzo-Soprano, Flute, and Piano. The flute gracefully takes over the original viola part, intertwining with Felicitas’ rich vocal lines and Max’s textured piano accompaniment.
The trio will perform both contrasting movements:
The Ensemble: Trio Delux
The Trio Delux is a chamber music formation born out of a shared passion for exploring rare tonal combinations and intimate musical dialogues. All three members — Felicitas, Mika, and Max — study together at the University Mozarteum Salzburg, bringing a deep artistic connection and high-level training to the stage.
While our website usually highlights the duo projects of the Gieres brothers, this project beautifully expands our musical boundaries. Max Gieres provides the sensitive foundation on the piano, Mika Gieres introduces the brilliant, airy colors of the flute, and Felicitas completes the ensemble with the warm, expressive depth of her mezzo-soprano voice.
The Venue: Solitär Mozarteum
The Solitär concert hall at the Mozarteum University Salzburg is highly celebrated for its modern architecture, stunning views, and pristine acoustics. It provides the ideal backdrop for a delicate chamber music repertoire, allowing every subtle nuance of the flute, voice, and piano to be perfectly heard.
